Our Motto

Empowering Students to Open the World Through Education!

Our History

In 1996, Fair Play and Oakway Elementary merged to become Fair-Oak Elementary. Due to overcrowding at this Fair-Oak Elementary, as well as the merger of Oakway and Westminster Middle into West-Oak Middle, the fourth and fifth graders moved to the former Oakway Middle School in 2007. Oakway and Fair-Oak operated as separate schools for 8 years. The 2015-16 year marked the beginning of Fair-Oak becoming one school, but at separate campuses. In 2016, we reopened Fair-Oak as one school in a modern, renovated facility located at 1964 Oakway Road in Westminster, South Carolina.

Welcome From Our Principal

Welcome to a year of expectation at Fair-Oak Elementary.  As we embark upon the 2020-2021 school year, our staff is incredibly honored to serve all of you.  As the leader of Fair-Oak Elementary, I am committed to continuing to build the success of all students within our school community.  Building strong relationships among parents, community members, and students is essential in this process.  We are still dedicated to our vision statement to empower students to open the world through education. This world can be different from student to student, but it is our desire to give our students the opportunity to believe and achieve their dreams.

As we begin my fifth year of leading Fair-Oak, I look forward to us building on our previous successes! My family and I are ecstatic about being a part of the Fair-Oak family and community. I have spent the past 17 years of my life in education. I believe that education is beyond the curriculum but involves educating the whole child. I look forward to serving alongside you and your student(s), as we take this journey on what I know will be an exciting time for everyone!

If we can ever do anything to assist you, please do not hesitate to call on us!

Best,

David W. Thompson
